Prep Courses
$69* For the best chance of being successful in the at a CSIA or C.A.S.I. level 1 certification, candidates should take our in house prep course. Taught over half a day a week prior to the course itself, one of our certified evaluators will take you through the requirements for the course and evaluate your skiing and riding ability. You will go away with a clear understanding of what is involved and what to do to prepare for an upcoming course. This course is the perfect preparation and will get you one step ahead of the game come course time. You wouldn't take your driving test without a lesson first so increase your chances of success and come and spend some time on the slopes with us first.

AST1 Mount Washington
$245* The Avalanche Skills Training One is an introductory avalanche course designed for individuals with little to no avalanche related experience. Students will learn to recognize avalanche terrain, gain the skills to initiate and manage a self rescue, have a basic understanding of how weather contributes to avalanche hazard, be able to understand and interpret avalanche bulletins and the hazard scale, be able to interpret and utilize the Avaluator card and learn basic analysis of layers in the snowpack. This is a two day course with one evening session.
Intro to Backcountry
$169* Join our pros to learn the basics of Back country travel. Our pros will take the time to show you how to use Avalanche Safety gear, how to use skins and techniques for skiing in back country conditions. This program is taught in conjunction with Island Alpine Guides. Please note this is not a certification course and it is strongly recommended that skiers and boarders seek further Education through the Avalanche Skills Training Programs taught by Island Alpine Guides
