Mountain Kids

The Mountain Kids team is here to supervise, interact and help create lasting memories for your children. From our dedicated sales team, who can provide you with all your registration information, to our children's specialist in Daycare and Snow School Staff, your experience is sure to be an enjoyable one for you and your family. Our half day and full day sessions will keep your child moving! Our pros are trained to work with children and offer them a fun and dynamic learning environment. This includes games and activities to develop your children's skiing and snowboarding skills. Throughout the morning and afternoon we offer kids the chance to warm up and enjoy a healthy snack as prepared by our day care staff. Our Snow School Staff will take the time to review the day and recommend the next step in your child’s skiing and riding development. Helmets are included in all Mountain Kid Lesson Programs.

Mount Washington Snow School Staff will supervise your child in one of the many exciting programs offered for kids aged 18 months to 12 years. Mountain Kids Day Packages include lessons, lift ticket, ski or snowboard rental and a healthy snack. The Mountain Kids centre is located on the lower level of the Learning Centre. We offer a broad range of Child Care and Lesson Programs for children from 18 months to 12 years of age. For your convenience we offer on site Rentals for children participating in our lesson programs (for people looking for children’s rentals without lessons, they can go to the main Learning rentals). To ensure availability of space in the program of your choice, we recommend pre-registering on line at www.mountwashington.ca or by calling Reservations at 250-338-1386. For safety reasons, all children must wear helmets for the lesson.

Pre-registrations are strongly recommended, and must be completed by 3pm at least 48 hours in advance. Last minute spots will be accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis when booked in person at Mountain Kids on the day of the lesson – no exceptions!

Class sizes are limited to ensure fun and safety.

Things you will need to know to select the right program:

1. What is the Lesson Date?
2. How many children are you registering?
3. How old will the children be on the lesson date?
   • For ages 2-5 see Wee Ski/Ride or
   • For ages 4-5 see Group Lessons, Packages
   • For ages 6-12 see Group Lessons and Packages or Camps
4. Are they skiing, snowboarding, or just daycare? (minimum ages – Ski: 2 years; Snowboard: 3 years; Daycare: 18 months)
5. Do they require rentals?
6. Do they require a lift pass?
7. Have they done this activity before? (if no then for ages 6-12 see Discover Packages)
8. What is the child’s skill level (see skill level selection chart)?

Mountain Kids Evening Program

$49* Mount Washington's child care has introduced an evening activities program from 4-7pm every Saturday throughout the winter season evening that includes Snow Tubing, Dinner, and Arts and Crafts. This program is available to children between the ages of 4-12 only. Space is limited so please call to book now!

Mount Washington Alpine Resort Lesson Cancellation Policy

All lesson cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the lesson time. You can call Snow School at 250.338 1386 ext. 675 for Mountain Kids programs (including daycare). You may also email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for cancellations only. Do not use this email for questions or bookings, use the options for each program found below. Any cancellations made after the 48-hour period, regardless of reason, will be charged a $20.00 administration fee. If another lesson is booked at the time of cancellation, we will waive the administration fee.

Refunds will not be issued for missed lessons. If you are late for a lesson we will do our best to rebook for later that day.

If a guest becomes ill during a lesson we will rebook the lesson for another day.

Instructions for lesson day:

• Allow a minimum of 1 hour between your arrival in the resort or departing your condo and the lesson start time (ie: for a 9:30 lesson plan to arrive by 8:30).
• You are responsible for supervising your child (7yr +) prior to meeting the instructor on the snow 10 minutes prior to the scheduled lesson start time. Tots sign in to the Indoor Play area.
• Please be aware that all lessons start promptly at the scheduled start time regardless of weather conditions or reduced lift operations (yes we can teach level 2, 3, and 4 skills on beginner terrain!). If your child is not ready and on the snow in the assigned meeting place prior to the scheduled lesson time, the lesson will leave without them. There are no refunds on missed lessons.
• You are responsible for meeting your child in the assigned meeting place outside Mountain Kids or the Indoor Play area for Tots at the scheduled lesson end time. Mount Washington is responsible for supervising your child during scheduled lesson times only. Tots will not be released on their own and you may be charged for additional care.
